A day care centre which caters for older people in the greater Tralee area, opened its doors today for the first time since the start of the pandemic.
Baile Mhuire had to close in March of 2020 - but welcomed back clients at 10 this morning, for a day of activities and reunions.
Operations Manager Aidan Kelly said it was an emotional day, but it was wonderful to be able to re-open after 15 months.
He said every precaution was taken to ensure the facility was safe for the clients and within HSE guidelines.
Among those delighted to be back, was 93-year-old Kenmare man George Galvin, who lives in Tralee.
