There are on average 49 serious injuries as a result of road traffic collisions in Kerry each year.
The Road Safety Authority released the information in an online lecture, which focused on serious injuries incurred on Irish roads. It says that, of the national annual average of 1,250, pedestrians, motorcyclists, and cyclists account for over half of all serious injuries.
The RSA says the government has published a strategy to reduce road traffic deaths and injuries over the coming years. Over the past three years, there have been an average of 49 serious injuries incurred annually following road traffic incidents in Kerry.
