Irish Canadian author Anakana Schofield has won the 2021 Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year Award for her book Bina.

The €15,000 prize was announced as part of Listowel Writers' Week.

Anakana Schofield is an acclaimed writer whose previous book, Martin John, was shortlisted for the Giller Prize, the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize and the Goldsmiths Prize in the UK.

The Pigott Poetry Prize was won by Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin for her Collected Poems.
