Precautionary signs, warning of the presence of an algal bloom in the lakes of Killarney, have been extended.
The signs were initially erected near Lough Leane, warning that algal bloom may be present in the water and on the shoreline.
Kerry County Council has extended the precautionary signage to include Muckross Lake, due to the predicted weather forecast.

The public are advised not to bathe in water, if there are visible signs of algal blooms in the vicinity; these blooms are also harmful to dogs, if ingested.
