The HSE has written to parents of children in the national school saying a positive case of COVID-19 has been identified in the school community.
The letter says the necessary COVID-19 control actions are being followed, and a medical team from the Department of Public Health HSE- South has conducted a comprehensive public health risk assessment.
A number of close contacts of the case have been identified. The letter says the families involved have been contacted and have been given the necessary public health advice.
The rest of staff and pupil community in the school are advised to attend school as usual - unless they have any health concerns for which they should contact their GP.
It follows confirmed cases in a primary and secondary school in a seperate area of Kerry in the last few days.
