Kerry County Council says 97% of dog owners its staff met in recently, had bags with them to dispose of their dog’s waste.
The council’s dog and litter wardens carried out four patrols in Castleisland, Tralee, Listowel and Dingle.
During these patrols, they spoke with 33 dog walkers and 97% of them had doggie bags for waste disposal.

Meanwhile, in January over 1,300 (1,335) dog licences were issued in Kerry; three fines were issued and the local authority rehomed 12 dogs.
