A further 61 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the Republic this evening.
No new COVID-19 related deaths have been reported to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre; the death toll here remains at 1,777.
A total of 27,969 people have now contracted the illness.
Of the most recent cases 39 are in Dublin, 13 in Kildare and the remaining nine cases are in Cork, Kerry, Laois, Limerick, Longford and Wicklow.
The latest county figures are correct as of midnight on August 21st, and show the total number of confirmed cases in Kerry has risen by two to 325.
67% of today's cases are in people under the age of 45.
