41 lifeguards will be on duty across Kerry's 12 Blue Flag beaches this summer.
It's the same number that was employed by Kerry County Council last year, but the council says it's an increase on the previous years.

Eight of the beaches have had the full complement of lifeguards on duty since last Saturday, while Ballinskelligs, Ballybunion, Kells and Derrynane will have their full assignment on duty by the end of the month.

Kerry County Council says the number assigned to each beach depends on the beach in question, with a higher number of lifeguards assigned to the busier beaches across the county.
Lifeguards are on duty from noon until 7pm during the week, and 11am to 7pm on the weekends.
