40 tonnes of waste picked up on County Clean Up Day
One of the biggest mobilisations of volunteers in the county will take place next month as the annual County Clean Up returns after a two-year absence. The 10th annual County Clean Up will take place on Saturday, 2nd April and a call is going out to individuals and communities to take part and help to make the county spick and span and to give Kerry a fresh look in time for summer. 40 tonnes of waste were picked up on the Kerry County Clean Up Day this year.

The initiative took place on the 2nd of April this year, with more than 5,000 volunteers participating.

The County Clean Up Day involves individuals and communities across the county picking up rubbish in their localities and local roads.

5,000 bags of litter containing 40 tonnes of waste were collected on a single day.
