4 units of the fire brigade tackle fire at Ballylongford bog

Four units of the fire brigade were called to tackle a fire at Shronowen bog near Ballylongford last night.

It took several hours for two units from Listowel fire service and two units from Ballybunion fire service to bring the blaze under control at around 8 o’clock last night.

Shronowen bog is the site of a controversial proposed windfarm, which is seeking planning permission for 12 turbines.
