Over 12,000 bags of rubbish were recycled at Kerry County Council waste transfer stations between January and May.
Figures from the council show that 198 tonnes of materials were recycled, representing 10% of all waste brought to the facilities in Milltown, Killarney, Kenmare, Cahersiveen, and Dingle.
There were over 5,000 weighbridge transactions at the civic amenity sites, but the majority of the 1,600 tonnes of waste brought for dumping was in bags - over 33,000 of them.
