One further death related to COVID-19 and 434 new cases have been notified to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre this evening.
Of the new cases, fewer than five are in Kerry. This county continues to have the third lowest 14-day incidence rate of the virus; it stands at 38.6 per 100,000. The national average is 117.4 per 100,000 while Donegal has the highest incidence rate at 251.3. Of this evening's 434 new cases, 217 are in Dublin, 30 each are in Kildare and in Cork, 27 are in Limerick, and 21 in Donegal.
As of April 21st, 1,275,828 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Ireland - 904,774 people have received their first dose and 371,054 have got their second jab.
There have been 4,867 deaths related to COVID-19 and a total of 245,743 confirmed cases.
