Ten more deaths of people with COVID-19 have been notified to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre this evening.
Seven of these deaths occurred this month, one in March, one in February, and one fatality happened in January.
Of the 617 new cases confirmed this evening, 236 are in Dublin, 84 in Donegal, 37 in Kildare, 34 in Tipperary, and 30 in Offaly. Fewer than five of the cases are in Kerry. This county now has the third lowest 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 population, standing at 37.9 per 100,000. The national average is 118.1. Donegal has the highest 14-day incidence rate at 256.9 per 100,000.
There have been 4,866 deaths of people with COVID-19 in Ireland and there have been 245,310 confirmed cases.
As of April 20th, there have been 1,240,965 doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered - 878,823 have received their first dose while 362,142 have got their second jab.
